Chris trained as an actor at the Drama Studio Sydney and completed an MA in Performance Studies. Chris was a member of REM Theatre from 1992-2001, co-creating new performance works with the company and touring through Australia and South Korea. In 2001 Chris was the recipient of an Asialink grant to direct a performance work with University drama students in Seoul. Chris is a founding member of Theatre Kantanka, devising and performing numerous large-scale works with the company.
From 2002-2010 Chris was Associate Director at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists; creating opportunities for emerging artists through mentorships, workshops and performance programs. From 2012-2015 Chris conceived and produced a series of site-specific tales ‘The True Tale of George Cribb’, ‘The Irascible Dr MacKellar’ and ‘Full Fathom Five’, which drew on historic stories of 19th century residents of The Rocks.
In 2017 Chris created a solo work as performance personna Estar. ‘Short and Long Love Songs’ was performed at Django Bar in 2018 and again in 2019.
